These changes include everything posted to the Quick Feed list over the course of July 2026.
Error Fixes, Simplifications, and Rewording
These changes are to address misused words, typos, or other issues not inherent to the mechanics of a feature. Your perception of the system’s balance or mechanics may change because of them.
- Corrected Nova Warp to be a bonus action to cast.
- Clarified that Six-Shooter does benefit from Extra Attack.
- Range and text of Twilight Arsenal updated to match their changed functionality (we removed throwing them a few updates ago).
- Corrected a few instances of “weight limit” to “encumbrance.”
- General typos/reference errors fixed.
- Reworked Ghost ability scores so they aren’t strictly created the same way you create your Guardian ability scores, to account for the Vex species
- Renamed “energy shield recharge roll” to “energy shield recovery roll.” Many new players mistake the recharge mechanics of Powers as the same recharge mechanics of energy shields, so hopefully this change alleviates that confusion.
- It’ll take a little while to go through all the exotics and get this update applied to them.
- Removed the Special property from trace rifles, since the Line Fire property covers what was their Special property anyway.
- Reworded a handful of weapon perks. We’re at the stage of development where we’re getting picky about things, which is definitely a sign of being close to done!
Experimental Changes
What better time to try something new than during early access? One might even argue that’s the whole point of early access!
- This is a hot one: moved the effects of the sunsinger’s Touch of Flame Aspect to the sunbreaker (listed as the Ignition Aspect), and revamped the sunsinger’s Touch of Flame Aspect to affect grenade Powers, like how the video game Touch of Flame Aspect works. This keeps parity with the video game and gives sunbreakers a much-needed Aspect combo (Ignition + Consecration).
- Instances of Evasion were changed to the old-old version (half damage on a failure, no damage on a success), but you can only use the feature once per round.
Balance Changes
These changes are explicitly to address balance issues. Game balance is a very complicated subject that goes well beyond damage or perceived value. Game balance also needs to take into consideration our design goals for the system, how something affects player psychology, or how it affects an Architect’s ability to do their job.
Remember, this is Early Access. Material can still be updated or changed.
WEAPONS & WEAPON PERKS
- “Perks don’t overlap” rule was updated to be a bit more specific, while also allowing more freedom with dual-wielding builds. It’s better to just read the section on the Weapon Perks page.
- Siege Weapon no longer doubles damage vs constructs (the monster type). Instead, you can add your PB to damage against constructs.
- Micro-Missile catalyst can’t be used on Energy Weapons.
- Danger Zone now increases the area of all Payloads.
- Infiltrator reworked, given an effect that synergizes with Active Camouflage.
- Javelin, Micro-Missile, and Rangefinder are no longer restricted to tier 0 amounts when calculating range increases.
- Off-Beat now also buffs Payload DCs.
- Onslaught only gains +1 stack for each shot on a turn after the first shot. You also lose all stacks early if you become Incapacitated.
- Osmosis requires your item interaction to use.
- Shoot to Loot weight increased to 10 lbs, doesn’t work if transmat is blocked.
- Swashbuckler and Under Pressure reworded to work with both melee and ranged weapons. Catalysts had their restrictions updated to reflect this.
- Turnabout requires you to complete at least a short rest to use the perk again.
- Unflinching causes an auto-success instead of only adv on the roll. Once per short rest.
- Danger Zone and High-Luminosity Beam added to catalyst list.
FEATS
- Assassin’s Training was overhauled a little ways ago. It only works with Agile or Main-Handed weapons.
GUNSLINGER
- Aspect changes:
- Crackshot now affects all the major elemental debuffs: Blinded, Frozen, Poisoned, Restrained, Scorched, Severed, or Weakened.
- On Your Mark overhauled.
- Moved the support Power casting to Gunpowder Gamble instead.
- Gunpowder Gamble changed to a Strength save, added knockback and knocked Prone to a failed save.
ARCSTRIDER
- Ascension (Aspect & Power) overhauled.
- New tactical Power: Blink.
- Way of the Swift
- Blink feature renamed to Amplified Blink. This feature costs a stage of Amplified to use, and can now be used multiple times on a turn.
- Reworded Escape Artist.
STRIKER
- Engineer
- Siege Power had its double damage to constructs (the monster type) removed. Instead, you get to add a flat bonus to your damage.
SUNBREAKER
- Get to choose armorsmithing or weaponsmithing toolkit prof.
- You now must have no uses of Inner Flame remaining before you get to invoke Burn Bright. Burn Bright is now a flat amount ( 2x PB).
- Aspect changes:
- Consecration’s healing now also procs if solar damage reduces a hostile creature to 0.
- Roaring Flames now also gains stacks when you hit with a Power weapon attack roll, so you can gain stacks while using your super Power weapons. The stack is now gained immediately, instead of at the end of your turn. Finally, the damage bonus applies to all sources of solar damage.
- Sunspots of Sol Invictus can now be placed on flying targets. You can only place a single sunspot on a turn. Any solar damage places a sunspot. Finally, the damage of a sunspot is now simply your Power modifier. This hopefully makes the combo with Roaring Flames cool, but still manageable for your GM.
- Code of the Devastator
- Terrifying Visage grants you adv on attacks against Frightened creatures (you do not need to be the one to cause the Frightened). Also, the saving throw now only procs when you cast your super Power, and you get to add your Power level to the save DC. Finally, creatures Frightened by Terrifying Visage are also Restrained.
- Gained Devastator’s Might at 3rd level.
- Undying Flames now also temporarily increases your critical hit range each time you use the feature.
- Kindled Vigor renamed to Devastator’s Vigor, since Kindled is now a condition for Siegebreakers.
- Removed the recoil damage on Temper Flare.
- Undying Flames overhauled. Roughly the same effect, with different conditions.
- Code of the Forgemaster
- Soothing Aura change: can now spend Inner Flame to Empower creatures that benefit. Costs one use per creature.
- Code of the Siegebreaker
- Light it Up overhauled into the Kindled condition, which gives a mix of drawbacks and benefits.
- Build the Pyre overhauled.
- Eruption can now only be used while Kindled and gets a damage bonus based on the amount of recoil you’ve taken since your last brief rest.
SUNSINGER
- Song of Flame no longer grants resistances to all damage types while you have Overshields.
- Ballad of Grace
- Solar Prominence now increased the range of Divine Blessing by 10 feet.
- Removed Blessed Presence.
- Added Righteous Surge at 6th level.
- Overhauled Guiding Flame, added to 11th level.
- Overhauled Benevolent Dawn.
Coming Soon!
- Large update for the Darkness classes planned for approx. mid-August. This includes new Powers and at least one new class archetype.
- This is the last public Darkness class update! Darkness classes will remain in Early Access for patrons only until they are completed, which we’re expecting to finish by January 2027.
- Gameplay module for Vault of Glass and Crota’s End.
- New monsters for patrons.
PGB: What’s left to do?
While the Darkness classes still have a long way to go, the Light classes and the core gameplay of D&Destiny 2e is nearly finished. Here’s what’s left for us to work on. This list intentionally doesn’t include material you’d typically find in the Bestiary or Architect’s Guide.
- Finalize customization options (feats, perks, etc).
- Add adventuring gear info (rope, duct tape, toolkits, etc).
- Vehicle stats & info.
- Import the remaining game rules from 5e / D&Destiny 1e, so the website has everything you need right here.
Once done, the only PGB updates we’ll make will be for typos and egregious balancing issues.
