Dredgen Yor was the greatest bogeyman of the early City Age, an impossibly dreadful villain of unmitigated cruelty. Yet some would follow his path, and craft vile weapons like this, in the image of his own.

Situational: If you hit a creature with a shot from this weapon, that creature takes Darkness damage equal to your 1 + your Power level at the start of each of its turns for the next minute.
The creature can make a Power saving throw—or a Constitution saving throw at disadvantage, if they are not Risen—at the end of each of its turns, ending this effect early on itself a success. Also, when you hit a creature with a shot from this weapon, you may spend a Remnant to double the Darkness damage dealt by Mark of the Devourer for that creature until the effect ends.
