Though built from Hive artifacts and empowered with their unmistakable dark sorcery, this is no Weapon of Sorrow. It must be a weapon of vengeance.
Exquisite Legendary weapon (scout rifle), requires attunement by a Risen
Damage: 1d8 Darkness
Scope: 15/120/240 (medium)
Memory, Weight: 7 lb. (7/1)
Other Properties: Shot Capacity (1), Two-Handed
A mysterious scout rifle made of materials and artifacts stolen from the Hive. Most of its body is hidden in a cover of stitched hide, draped with a tattered cowl of Hive wormsilk. The only visible parts are the muzzle, a bayonet of Hive chitin, and a strange gyroscopic array in the center of what should be the receiver. Its nested rings are graven with Hive runes, and spin around a hunk of grimly dark stone suspended at their center.
Intrinsic: Unending Crusade
Perpetual: This weapon cannot be reloaded.
Situational: If this weapon has no shots remaining in its capacity, you can still take a shot with this weapon. However, you take recoil damage equal to 5 times your Power level, and the shot gains a bonus to its damage roll of an equal amount.
Slot 1: Into the Deep
Situational: If you are at or below half your total hit points, shots with this weapon have a +2 bonus to their attack rolls.
Slot 2: Touch of Mercy
Situational: If you kill a hostile creature with a shot from this weapon or with the Charged with Blight perk, you may make an energy shield recharge roll, and can refund one shot to this weapon’s shot capacity.
Like normal, whenever a Risen creature makes any shield recharge roll, they must wait until the start of their next turn before they can do so again.
Slot 3: Charged with Blight
Situational: If you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points with a shot from this weapon, or if you exceed a creature’s AC by 8 or more with a shot from this weapon, you gain one stack of Malice, up to a maximum number of stacks equal to your Power level.
As an action while wielding this weapon, you can spend Malice to expel Taken blight from the barrel. Each creature in a 10-foot cone, originating from you, must make a Constitution saving throw. A creature takes 3d8 Darkness damage on a failed save and is Blinded until the end of its next turn, or half as much damage on a successful one.
The size of the cone increases by 10 feet, and the damage amount increases by 1d8, for each additional stack of Malice you choose to spend on this action.
